BLOG for FT Contest (KL, Putrajaya & Labuan)

Today while browsing The Star online website, I saw this advertisement that mentioned about "Blog & Win" and of course the attractive prize of the "Peugeot 308 VTi" that attract me the most to click on the advertisement banner.

While reading through about the contest and the terms and conditions, I really find it as a very good idea to generate public awareness about Federal Territory or Kuala Lumpur (KL), Putrajaya and Labuan. Surely a lot of the blogger will find out and write out all the history, life, heritage, interesting things or attractive places in those areas, things or events happening at those areas, includes people personal view of those areas from local or foreigners and basically many mores you may see that people most likely to post in their blog.

I personally feel it is a great contest and thankful to Premium Partner: Sime Darby and other partners and sponsors such as Celcom, Sapura, Naza Group, Air Asia, TM and Pavilion KL that organize this contest that most likely to be very successful and effectively in promoting Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan. I really believe this is a society contest rather than a profitable contest; they are spending a lot of their money for those prizes in order to get people to participate in this contest without thinking about profit, it is an act and effort from them to “contribute back” to the people or society.

I surely will try my best to post my personal view and experiences of those areas in my blog in order for more people to know about those areas. I also not sure how to get started but I will summary my views about these areas in this article.

Since I am young, I been staying at Serdang, only last year, I moved to Bandar Putra Permai, Selangor D. E., where both places also are just outside KL Territory and it had been 26 years now. But I had been frequent traveling to KL whether for work or entertainment for all those years. Surely a lot that can be write about KL such as daily massive traffic jam (before and after work time) that I need to withstand as I work at Cheras and my mother work nearby KLCC (that sometimes I fetch her back from work). There also my first experiences to those interesting places at KL such as Petronas Twin tower (KLCC) bridge (that KLCC is once the world tallest building), KL Tower, Christmas and New Year celebration at KLCC Park, my hotel experiences, Merdeka Square during the National Day, Zoo Negara and many more. There are of course Bukit Bintang areas that we as youngster like to visit whether for food, shopping or entertainment.

Meanwhile for Putrajaya, it not far from where I staying, although the distance maybe around 20km but with the width road and no traffic jam, the traveling time eventually take not so long. When the government started to build the area, I always frequent travel there especially outside the Prime Minister Office, the most attractive thing at there is those government buildings, infrastructures such as the bridges, mosque, etc. that captured my attraction. Currently it is really a great-developed area which shopping mall, recreation parks and township are being built that makes it even a great place to stay in. For me, it is a great move from the government to develop that area and even move out all the government sectors to that areas and also encourage foreign companies to set up their companies there that eventually can make the KL less congested. Even the government got extra land available for them to make proper planning at that area.

For Labuan, honestly I don’t know much about that area but I know the place is famous for diving and the sea is very attractive for those divers’ lover. I also hope to visit that place in future after I conquest the Kota Kinabalu Mountain.

Here go my first article to contribute to this contest; hopefully I can write more interesting articles about these areas soon and eventually win the grand prize!! Haha…

Start Own Business

There are a lot of people always said "don't want to forever become an employee and want to start own business". But the main question is "What kind of business to do?".

It is always easy to have a dream of starting own business, but it is not easy to know what kind of business to do. It will take a lot of time and courage to eventually start own business. Some people don't have the courage to forgo what his/her currently owing such as monthly salary, stable work and less work stress. When you decided to start a business, there are a lot of hardwork involve include work 24/7 because no capital to hire a lot of employees to help you, work stress is high because constantly you need to figure out what is the company/business direction is and capital/money stress as whether the current business/sales enough to sustain the company as that is the only money you get. It also involve giving up the current employment and no stable income.

It is not as easy as many may think, and a lot of factor involve during the process. It may be a difficult few years at the beginning with all the stress and workload involve. However it is always good to have own company which you work hard for your own income, no need to feel un-appreciated for the work had been done, and it is always feel great when you watch the business growth that you give your all the time and effort to make it successful.

For those who interested to start own business, there are a few questions that you need to have the answer as show below:
1) What business you want to start?
2) What is the potential sales?
3) Who is the target customer?
4) How is the competition?
5) What make your product so special?
6) How you reach your target customer?
7) How much is your capital?
8) Is your capital sufficient to last you for at least first 6 months without any profit?
9) How you get your resources?
10)Do you have the suppliers' contact?

Living in A Foreign Country

It is always great to live or work in other countries, but will you forever like it.

Living in a foreign country can be fun and exciting as you able to see a different places, culture, people, and lifestyle. It is an opportunity to see the country attractive places that make it different from the home country. You also can meet and making friend with foreigner to understand their culture and even foreign language. When living in a foreign country, the usual lifestyle also need to change in order to adapt the country, some countries, the pace is fast and some focus on quality of life which the pace is slower. This will eventually give you a new perception in looking things and add to your life experiences.

However being in a foreign country maybe difficult as well. You need to change and adapt to an entire new life: place, people, lifestyle, and language. Not only that, you need to leave or left behind the things you own or love in the home country including family, friend, house, assets, etc. This is not an easy decision to be made. At foreign country, cultural shock always happen, you may need to adapt to a lifestyle that you not always encounter in your home country and you may need to adapt on something that you may not agreed on. Racism also can occur in any country especially you are a foreigner and from a country that people will tend to have a bad perception on.

When you look at the pro and con of living or working in a foreign country, it is not easy to determine which is the best option. However it is really very exciting to live in a foreign country and see new things but you need to make some big changes in your life to adapt the foreign country. It is important to determine whether you happy or not if you look at those pro and con.

Why Countries must go on War?

Why Countries must go on War?
With the current bad economy situation, everyone had been suffering to stay alive and try to find way for living. Government should look on ways or implementing certain programs or plans to help those people to survive in the current situation.

However there are countries that over-look on this and only invest the government/people money for "War", "Weaponry" and "Terrorism". Is all this is necessary when their people need the help the most? Why must go into war? Currently there is war in the Gaza Strip along Israel and Hamas (Palestinian Sunni Paramilitary). Innocent people are being killed because of the war (air strike and now ground war). What kind of benefits the countries can get for this war?

Nowadays, the information can be traveled across to Atlantic or Pacific Ocean much faster than the older days. Any action you make, whole world will know about it within the same day. Eventually it had caused problems at other countries with street demonstration protesting the war. This had caused unrest among the people at the affected and unaffected countries when the economy is sliding downward. Where is the consideration attitude among those countries?

In this world, everyone has his or her own differences or own problems to solved. Why can't we just learn to be tolerant with each other and accept other people thinking or action without triggering a "war"? We got different culture, race, language and many others. We must learn to accept each other and not acting against each other. If people really don't want to tolerant, people around the world shouldn't travel across other country, everyone should stay and do business in own country and never leave the country. Then nobody got any differences and just live in the world of their own.

Thailand Turmoil 2008 - Thai PM dodges protesters for first key speech

Basically how long all the unrest will continue in Thailand? This had been a never-ending saga that began since early of 2008 with street protest and demonstration to demand for the resignation of the Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej on that time. Eventually on 26 August 2008 when the protesters laid siege to and has occupied the Government House, the Prime handled over the resignation.

After the resignation of Samak Sundaravej on September 2008, Somchai Wongsawat was appointed as the new Prime Minister. However People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) continue to protest on the appointment of Somchai due to the relationship with ex-Prime Thaksin Shinawatra. On 25 November 2008, PAD staged the protest and siege Suvarnabhumi International Airport that caused a lot of problem for travelers in and out of Thailand and eventually affect the tourism industry in Thailand. On 2 December, finally Somchai Wongsawat resigned in order to re-store the unrest in the country and his parties People's Power Party (PPP) had been banned and the members also banned from politics.

Then on 15 December 2008, Abhisit Vejjajiva, the PAD leader was appointed as the new Prime Minister of Thailand. He vowed to restore the country from unrest and the economy by pumping more money on the tourism industry. However, due to his appointment, another kind of protesters that support PPP are demonstration on the street and the latest at the Parliament entrance that prevent the Prime and the minister from leaving or going to the Parliament.

I totally didn't understand when this going to be end. It seems like all the politic personnel want to be Prime Minister. Nobody can be fully satisfied with the outcome, when a party won the election and being appointed as ruling party of the government, the opposition party will demonstrate as a protest and demand of the resignation. When the party really gives up the government power, the opposition party being elected, then the party will demonstrate again. This process is going in circle. The first step by Prime Samak should considered as a wrong step by resigning because of the demonstration, it had giving more power to the protester and make them feel that by demonstrating, the government will give way to them.

Just take for example, Malaysia, the Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had been taken a lot of pressure from the within the government party and from the public and even street demonstration. However he still refused to resigned, he only agreed that he transfer his power to the deputy when his term is out. This eventually shows to the protester that no matter what you said or do, he won't give way to them. Just like the Americans that never will negotiate or dealing with the terrorist.

Actually for the protesters, what are the benefits they get from all this protest? Eventually they didn't understand the effect for Thailand if this continues. The politic stability being affected, the people plus economy also affected by the demonstration. With Thailand economy mostly depend on tourism industry, if the country is unrest, the traveler number will reduce and it eventually affected all the tourism area business and of course the local trader.

After Aston Villa vs. Hull City match ended, the year 2008 ending "Top 4" had been finalized. With Liverpool leading the pack by third points more than Chelsea and seven points more than Manchester United (still got two games on hand). The year 2008 had developed a new power house to fight for the Top 4 which is Aston Villa that being turn fortune by Martin O'Neil that first took over a Top 10 side and with the smallest team in Premier League and less funding than any other club. This year, Aston Villa had proved to everyone that they are capable to fight for "Top 4" with consistent performance especially Ashley Young, Gareth Barry, Martin Laursen and Brad Friedel is "The Star" for the team. Hopefully none of them will get injury because in the team, there is lack of quality player that can replace them unlike the quality in Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea.

The most disappointment of the previous "Top 4" will be Arsenal; the young team finally took a tow by suffering inconsistency performance and No.5 position by end of 2008. There is a lack of experience and motivation in the team. With the lose of Mathieu Flamini (4 years with Arsenal) and Alexander Helb (3 years with Arsenal), the midfield had leave a big gap to be fill. Although they signed the highly rated attacking midfield Samir Nasri from Marseille and Aaron Ramsey from Cardiff City, the lack of experiences through their age 21 and 18 respectively and new in the team, won't help them adapt to the team tactics and chemistry as soon as possible. The disappoint player is Gael Clichy that several bad defending and clearance that contribute to opposition side scoring a goal. The best performance player will be Manuel Almunia that finally prove to everyone that he deserve to be in the team.

2008 really got a lot of surprise that including good and bad. The surprising will be the performance of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Blackburn Rover. They all deserve to be in the Top 10, however currently they are struggling to avoid the relegation zone. The players that had is consider as world class players however the performance they showed really disappointing. The most surprising will be Tottenham that struggle since the early of the season however with Harry Redknapp on board, they also had a change of fate with climbing up the standing very quickly starting with a win over Liverpool that boost their confident.

The most likely Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton will fight to finish Top 6, 7 and 8 respectively in 2008/2009 season. Manchester City will boost by the funding given by the Middle East owner with purchase of powerhouse players to change the fate of the club in the January Transfer Window. Then for Tottenham, finally Harry Redknapp can get the chance to bring players that he needed to fill the gap leaving at the club especially a striker that Jermaine Defoe and Emile Heskey are the key transfer targets. Everton still show us that they are a Top 10 club with the consistent performance.

This year relegation strugglers are most likely be West Brom, Stoke City, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, West Ham and Portsmouth. West Brom and Stoke City is most likely to be relegated by looking at their performance and the player quality (new in premiership and age of the player). Meanwhile for Sunderland, Middlesbrough, West Ham and Portsmouth, all the players are experiences and international represent their countries, however giving a lack of experiences in term of manager. Tony Adams, Gianfranco Zola and Gareth Southgate are lack of experiences to handle a team in Premier League especially the demand and pressure in the league is getting much more higher, they may lack of the experiences to handle it although they are ex-players for great clubs. Meanwhile it is disappointing to see Roy Keane leave the club which the season should be the greatest team they had build with all the new signing however they unable to "click" together in a short time to build success to be club.
2008/2009-season title contender will more likely to be among Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United. However it is most likely to be Liverpool with this season are the less changes in the club players compare to the changes in other seasons. They only added Albert Riera from Espanyol (Spain) to be left midfield section that they are lack of players and he is performing very well for the club by scoring 2 goals already. Meanwhile for Manchester United and Chelsea, there is too many controversy in the clubs internally that unable them to focus on the title. Cristiano Ronaldo had been consistently being link with Real Madrid, Carlos Tevez had been complaining on lack of first team action and contract issue, and Dimitar Berbatov had been struggling to prove his worthy to the club and combining with the other players: Wayne Rooney, Ronald and Tevez in front of goal. For Chelsea, currently there is news that senior players in the club are critic Luiz Felipe Scolari tactics especially Didier Drogba had clearly critic him in the public and the future of him in the club also in doubt by linking with Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan.

Relationship?

What is relationship? Relationship is a connection between two individuals or with a group of people. Relationship can be between parent, friend, and boyfriend/girlfriend.

However is there any perfect relationship? Will son/daughter don't quarrel with their father/mother? Can there be forever friend? Can boyfriend or girlfriend don't quarrel with each other?

In life, there never be anything is "Perfect" including relationship. Children being annoy by their parents because they feel their nagging or worry is for no reason even it is consider by their parents as a good advice. No matter how long being as friend, still will be quarrel on something and affect the relationship and even leave a "scar" in the heart. Boyfriend or girlfriend will never satisfied or appreciate with what their had, just will continue demand or expect more and even think others boy or girl is better.

Everyone is searching for the perfect relationship but it is possible? Everyone is different in terms of personality, behavior, attitudes and the way of thinking. There will never be a person that think and act like you. People should not thinking of searching for perfect relationship but should learn to how to maintain a relationship. There are some people believed in "fate" but others don't. In this life, your family, friend and your love one had been determined and you can never change it until your dead. We should learn how to avoid quarrel with them and learn to live with them as who they are.

Everyone dream about prince and princess and like the fairy tale - "happy ever after". But in reality, they will be things to be quarrel about and things that you don't like. There is no term - "happy ever after".

In my opinion, in order to maintain any relationship, you must learn to tolerance and try to think things based on their angle. Sometimes, there is things that don't have right or wrong. You may consider it is wrong but other may view it otherwise. You can't blame them because they had right to view things or had their way of thinking.

To maintain the relationship with family, you must learn to be patient and be understanding. They will definitely nag, scold, scream and beat you (until certain extend) but they only do this because they feel it is good for you. They had been living as a person longer time than you, it never hurt to listen to their advice. Although you don't want their advice, just listen and then move on. Just don't argue with them, you must always learn how to respect and re-pay your parents. They had work hard all their life just for a better future for you. Even you may have a bad family, just consider this is fate, you can't change who your family will be, just had to live on and build yourself a better future.

Meanwhile, relationship with friend can be very easy and hard. Some people if don't like the friend, just stay away from him/her; just cut the communication, that easy. However, this may not be good, maybe you will meet him/her again in future whether as colleague or maybe as family because future and life is so unpredictable. It is always good to have a friend than an enemy. Sometimes if you really being a best friend with somebody, you should not let anything break this relationship, it is not easy to find somebody to talk to when you happy or sad and somebody who can hang out with, once you lost it, you may never able to find it.

Relationship between girlfriend and boyfriend is the hardest relationship to maintain. You must learn to adapt each other lifestyle, thinking, attitude, and way of doing things. Even it is similar like staying with your family but it is totally different things. You stay with your family since you are small; actually you are adapting your family lifestyle, attitude, etc. Therefore you won't get so many problems or issues. When you being with your girlfriend or boyfriend, it will be difficult, both had different childhood, lifestyle, thinking, attitude and way of doing things, it is totally different. You may say "I with him or her think alike" but actually at the end, there will be many things that are not alike after spending a long time together. In this relationship, you really must learn to accept who he/she is, everyone got his or her own weaknesses, it is not only your partner but also yourself, and just you didn't notice yourself. People always said he/she not suitable but actually nobody will ever suitable for you; you will face the same problem with somebody else. "People still is people" - got different and own thinking.

Is "God" really exist in this world?

This is a question I always ask myself, is "God" really exist in this world?

If yes, why we unable to see or meet "God"? In Chinese, Western or Eastern history, there are written fact that a "God" come among the people and show their magnificent power such as "GuanYi", "Buddha", "Monkey King", "Jesus", and "Allah". Why in this modern world, they no longer exist? There is no people can fly, or no people will die today and alive in the next day. It is because the people are too many until "God" unable to help all. Everyday, and every festival, people are praying for the "God" for good health, more wealth, safety and prosperity; is it really work? They are still many people that is starving, live in poor, having disease and more criminal committed criminal offence. People that believe in "God" will said that this is life and everyone should go through sadness and happiness to fulfill the life destiny. But why? Why can't people all just live in happiness and no sadness exist.

In my opinion, all the written history and things about "God" is a thing that being created in the past for people to have faith on something and believe in life. In the past, people are living in poverty and don't have proper education and there are people whom consider themselves as "Royalty" are abusing other people whom consider as "Slave". In order to stop all this abusive, the only way is the make the people have believe in something that are extraordinary such as "God". "God" will protect you from harm as long as you have faith in "God". "God" also will do justice to the people that committed crime.

If "God" really exist, I really hope my question will be answer and if there really is a "time machine", I really wish to go back to the old day to verify the story. When there is news about something terrible happen such as murder, rape, robbery, and most serious terrorism, why there is no "God" to prevent all this? I also hope "God" really exist and give help to those innocent people.

In my own interpretation, "God" is created to provide "HOPE" to people, something to believe and have faith in.

Would you purchase an unknown brand tyre?

Lately I had purchased and changed four tyres on my car, the brand is called "Neuton NT5000". At first, my concern is purchased an unknown brand unlike the famous brands such as Goodyear, Bridgestone, Michelin, and Yokohoma. The things I afraid the most is the quality and how long the tyre treads can last.

Neuton is a tyre brand owned by a Singapore company called YHI Corporation (Singapore) Pte Ltd. YHI Corporation (www.yhi.com.sg) also is the brand owner of Advanti Racing, an alloy wheel that is the official sponsor of F1 Racing's Toro Rosso Team.

According to the promotion material, it is design for "Grips the road, Hugs the curves, Rips the miles. Engineered with racing technology. Designed for safety. Extreme perforances to set your heart pounding". There is three key features: (1) Wide Grooves: For wide grooves provide anti aquaplanning with execellent water drainage, ensuring superior performance on wet surfaces at high speed; (2) Unique Tread Blocks Sequence: Provides high traction, precise cornering & confident handling in wet & dry condition; (3) Contemporary Sidewall Design: Reinforced sidewall enhances road handling & drive responsiveness, contemporary sidewall design & rim-flange-guard protects sports rims from side curb damages.

Based on my opinion, i found that the tread is deep and this may make it last longer. According to the dealer, the tread pattern of the Neuton tyre can save fuel because the tread patterns reduce the rolling resistance and therefore reduce the fuel consumption. Basically, the tyre also makes less noise unlike my previous tyre set.

Overall, I feel satisfied with this brand although it is an unknown brand. Hopefully, it will bring no problems in the future.

Why guy like to watch soccer?

Many people always said and expect guys to like to watch soccer.

In my opinion, this is a misperception from the general people. And this eventually will make guy to watch soccer because they think this is a guy things. However they are guy that really follow up with soccer news, certain team, scores and players. For me, unfortunately I don't have time or TV to watch the match every weekend, if not, I surely will watch it because I really enjoy the excitement it offer. I really don't have any favorite team, however, I admire Real Madrid because they really a great team with great players. The best time of Real Madrid is during Luis Figo, Zidane, Ronaldo, Raul and Vicente del Bosque still around. During that time, Real Madrid really plays magnificent and beautiful soccer; short passing until to the front of the opposition goal post.

I really enjoy watching all team play and keep up with all the news of Premiership and other Europe league.

In the old day, soccer stadium is a place to gather, celebrate and cheer for the team. Guys really like to hang out with their "brothers" or "buddy" because they be themselves, talk about anything and totally enjoy themselves without people "making noises" at your side.

By watching the soccer match, it also can release the stress, by streaming when goal being scored or missed; by scolding the players or referee when there are certain errors being made. These things, we will never able to do it when working or even when in a relationship.

Nowadays, even girl or woman likes to watch soccer. But many people will think that they watch soccer because of the handsome player such as David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, etc. However they are really a percentage of them that really follow the team and not only the player.

I am totally disappointed with Liverpool performance. Every season, they are the one within the "Top Four" in the Premier League that spend the most in the transfer market and keep buying new players. This can be an advantages and disadvantages to Liverpool.

Advantages: They are adding quality players and youth to their existing team and improve their performance to compete for the No.1 position. The best example will be Fernando Torres, the best and most productive players they purchased. But they need to purchase wisely.

Disadvantages: They are adding too many non-productive and inexperiences players such as Andriy Voronin, Alvaro Arbeloa and some others players that had been sold such Mark Gonzalez, Mohamed Sissoko and others. There are simply too many changes in the players, every season, they keep buying and selling players. This had caused the players unable to create the bond and communication among the players. You may look at Manchester United and Arsenal, every season, they only purchased about average 3 players. And all those players are not sent directly to play at the first team; they usually spend 1 season on the bench.

Liverpool should buy wisely in the transfer market, research and analysis the players before brought them. Take Arsenal and Manchester United as examples, Arsenal purchased players and all the players came out to be world-class players, just unfortunately, Arsenal unable to retain their services. As shown this season, Mathieu Falmini recruited by AC Milan and Alexander Hleb by Barcelona. Even not only this season, you may know some great players from Arsenal such as Thierry Henry, Nicholas Anelka, Viera, Marc Overmarc, Petit, Reyes, Pires, Ashley Cole, and others whom transfer to "Europe Top Clubs". However, they will never be as successful as at Arsenal as you saw for Anelka, and Reyes. They are consider betrayal to Arsene Wenger, not greatful for the manager effort to train and develop them to become world-class players.

In this Olympic game, the champion will likely be between Brazil and Argentina. They indeed send some great and world-class players such as Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Juan Riquelme (Boca Junior), Fernando Gago (Real Madrid), Javier Mascherano (Liverpool), Ronaldinho (AC Milan), Alexandre Pato (AC Milan), Diego (Werder Bremen) and Lucas (Liverpool).
